the ONLY Colts game the whole season that they put that few of points up they were forcing Manning and others to sit out. They'll be on the feild today and good for well over 20 points EASY

My prediction is that with game time at 6, at around 5-5:30 will be an excellent time to go to the gym and then run some errands because the gym and all the stores will be deserted by then, as everywhere will be except for living rooms with wide-screen TVs, and also the roads, which at the moment are still full of idiots who can't drive in the snow.

Thank you dead-head_Monte for bringing some clarity and sanity to this dull thread.

Nice Pick Monte, my two favorite Dark Stars were played in this building, this is one of them. The other is from 2-5-69

Sound System note on Bear's tape —— this is the best sounding indoor AUD I ever heard from this era. The hiss component can be reduced by professional dehisser s/w. Kevin Tobin is upgrading this source, it says.

I was disappointed with the sound system quality at the Nassau Coliseum shows in 1973. The PA was boomy sounding inside. The Spectrum shows in Philly weren't much better. Common sense tells you that the band can only play better when the sound system is better - especially with the audience reacting well to the incredible sound. The GD sound system experience was always very important to me. When you're taping, and listening to lots of tapes, the sound system presents itself very forcefully to you.

So I'd like to pick your brain and ask your opinion of the 1974 sound. I have become sort of obsessed with 1974 - and part of my experience is your above sentence. I remember Garcia and Lesh using the capabilities of the wall to totally fuck with our minds. The good auds from the summer tour bring that back to me. Was it really as good as I remember?

Incredibly - or not, I never saw Pigpen perform. I just missed him by my first show. I never saw Mickey perform either. He wasn't around in 1973. And, I never saw the boys at a smaller venue - say, 5000 or less in size. What actually happened was that I hit the 15-show run in the northeast in 1973. If you count 2 days for the soundcheck show + the summer jam show, that's just under 1.5 million total in attendance at the 6 outdoor shows during a 7-week period as the proto-type WOS developed: RFK Stadium, Watkins Glen, and Roosevelt Stadium.

Iowa State Fairgrounds - June 16, 1974 WOS - a pic is worth a 1000 words

I've said it once and I'll keep saying it until I find at least one person agrees - I believe 6-16 is superior to 6-18
